Steve Turner leads Arup’s consulting work on smart cities. His clients include city and national governments, industry and urban developments. Recent work includes strategy and policy work for UK cities including London and Manchester as well as completing a review of 20 global smart city strategies. Other work includes commercial and business case advisory on smart infrastructure, including that across China. Before he joined Arup he was head of Future Cities at Manchester City Council where he developed and led a collaborative approach with public, private and academic partners securing funding worth over £25m. This included establishing two of the city’s flagship smart city projects – Triangulum – the city’s EU Lighthouse project and CityVerve the UK city demonstrator for IoT.
