Jen Stein is currently Professor of Design Futures at the University of the West of England (UWE) and a resident at the Pervasive Media Studio at Watershed. Her research and design work explores how increasingly computationally-embedded spaces can be creatively used towards more enchanted experiences of space and place. Before joining UWE and Watershed, she was a member of the research faculty in Media Arts + Practice and the Mobile and co-director of the Mobile and Environmental Media Lab at the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. She has worked on interactive design projects for BMW, Intel and the 2011 Shenzhen and Hong Kong Architectural and Urban Design Biennale.
