Jack Payne

Jack Payne is one of Bristol’s two Youth Mayors. He joined the Bristol City Youth Council as a campaign advisor in March 2015 and became an elected councillor in December 2015. In February 2016 he was elected the Youth MP for the city of Bristol. Later that month, he was elected on to the National NHS Youth Forum for the South of England region. He is also a young commissioner for Bristol City Council. In November 2016 he spoke in the House of Commons on the subject of a better, kinder democracy. He focused on the idea of how he would like to make politics more inclusive, especially for young people who have a disability. Another personal campaign is raising awareness of the stigma of male mental health (suicide is the biggest killer of men aged under 40).
