Gill Simmons

Gill Simmons is the artistic director of Brave Bold Drama, an award-winning theatre and community arts company. A former secondary drama teacher, she set the company up in 2013. The company’s core aim is to dismantle the financial and cultural barriers that prevent some people from accessing the arts and exploring their own creativity. Brave Bold Drama ran workshops and community art projects until 2015, when they also started making family theatre. In 2016 the company constituted as a community interest company and took on the lease of a building in Withywood, Creative Workspace, which it runs as a community arts centre, cafe and rehearsal/meeting space.
