Gareth Macnaughton is an innovation and research associate at RMIT. He has worked for over 20 years in the ICT sector in Europe, the US and Africa, with multinationals such as HP and CISCO. In addition to his industrial background he worked both in the European Commission and the UK Cabinet Office in relation to policy and programme development for smart cities, resilient infrastructure, energy and transport. He has a strong interest in applied ICT for secure, sustainable and resilient cities, as well as the societal and human factors which often mean ICT fails to deliver on its promised potential. His studies are in law, politics and in applied research methodologies.
