Chris Dunford is Head of Sustainable Futures at We The Curious, Bristol’s science centre. His aim is to make the science centre a hub for environmental sustainability in the city; a place where audiences can engage with sustainability issues, a place to experiment with new ways of operating sustainability, and a place to bring together various partners to create positive change. We The Curious’ award-winning sustainability work includes innovative building systems, bee hives, green roofs, a large solar array, pubic engagement programmes and artworks exploring environmental themes. In June 2019 We The Curious became the first science centre in the world to declare a climate emergency and pledge to be carbon neutral by 2030. Chris is a Director of the Bristol Green Capital Partnership and Mentor of the Sustainability in Science Museums Fellowship.
