Homes for Heroes 100: Ashton Rise Tour

Description Details

Ashton Rise is a new housing development in Ashton Vale, South Bristol. The innovative development of 133 homes will feature 40% social rent, and will see the council building houses for sale on the private market for the first time. The proceeds from the private sales will be reinvested to support funding the construction of the 53 new council homes on the site.

Utilising modern methods of construction, the project team are using the Sig iHouse system on the houses and a lightweight Fusion steel frame on the apartment blocks. These innovative solutions will enable the homes to be watertight quicker. The development will also feature a large ground source heat pump that will help deliver carbon savings for residents and the city. Construction workers will also be trialling an EksoVest, an exoskeleton that provides additional support for overhead repetitive tasks.

On this visit and tour you’ll hear more about the innovation taking place and be able to discuss with Willmott Dixon how they are working to meet the housing challenges we face.
